When is scaling and polishing recommended?
Dentists and dental hygienists recommend that individuals who are prone to tartar formation for any reason may need to have their tartar removed every 3 months. This may be due to a number of reasons such as genetics, neglected oral care, smoking, malnutrition, diabetes, or pregnancy. In the vast majority of cases, this dental procedure is recommended every 6 to 12 months.
Those who have only a minimal tendency to develop tartar, it is enough to consult a specialist every one or two years. We should monitor the condition of our teeth and it is recommended to take the necessary steps as soon as we detect tartar formation so that we can keep our teeth intact for the longest time.
Regular tartar removal, like brushing our teeth, is an essential part of maintaining oral hygiene, as the formation of tartar not only causes aesthetic problems but can also lead to a number of more serious problems.

The following dental diseases can be prevented or eliminated by regular dental hygiene treatment including scaling and polishing:
-
Gingivitis
-
Tooth decay
-
Discoloration of our teeth
-
Unpleasant, bad breath
-
Lose or lost teeth

How is a professional scaling and polishing carried out?
An ultrasonic depurator is used during the treatment, which is a gentle yet effective way to remove tartar. This is followed by polishing, which makes the surface of the teeth more even, making it harder for the plaque to build up.
If required, we also perform air flow polishing, which allows the discoloured teeth to regain their whiteness without chemical action. This is not about bleaching your teeth with a chemical material, it is simply a matter of gently removing the discoloration.
Of course, in order to maintain the result in the long term, brushing your teeth with the right method and frequency cannot be neglected. This can remove plaque from the teeth and also prevent future dental problems.

Scaling and polishing is recommended to everyone who wants healthy teeth:
-
It is fast and efficient
-
Painless
-
You will experience spectacular result, whiter teeth
-
It makes people feel better
-
Eliminates bad breath
