We’ll save your decayed teeth. Choose an aesthetic and durable solution.
Dental fillings are considered routine procedures – they are one of the most common conservative dental treatments. Dental fillings are plastic materials that the dentist places in the cavity. The decayed tooth as well as its surrounding area is prepared for the restoration. When the filling material is applied, it’s still malleable so that it can be shaped appropriately. The material is then hardened with a special bonding light.
A few years ago, metal amalgam fillings were used to repair decayed teeth but they have been replaced by aesthetic composite fillings.
Some advantages of aesthetic composite dental fillings:
-
great bonding: composite materials chemically bond to the tooth enamel, so the fillings are less likely loosen
-
they can be used to restore your decayed teeth as well as to fix other flaws, like a small chip in a tooth.
-
they don’t trigger allergic reactions
-
the color can be adjusted to any tooth color
-
abrasion resistant
-
they will fit your tooth perfectly
-
they have a longer lifespan than traditional fillings

The tooth decay process
The most common cause of cavities in the teeth is tooth decay. As the tooth decay appears, it causes the enamel to lose minerals. Over time, the enamel can be destroyed. This weakens the tooth material that softens and creates a cavity.
The good news is that maintaining proper oral hygiene, that is, regular, thorough, and professional brushing, can significantly reduce the chances of tooth decay. Regular dental check-ups are also important, and they can help prevent this process.
Is it possible to reverse tooth decay?
Reversing tooth decay is only possible in the earliest stages if it is recognized in time – otherwise filling remains the only option.
The light-curing composite fillings used to fill cavities and treat tooth decay are perfectly matched to the color of your own teeth. As a result, you can get a natural-looking result in the case of your front teeth as well. After the chewing surface of the posterior teeth has been formed, the treated teeth can be used as in their original condition.
